Delivered Unto Gentiles+Crucifixion+Resurrection

"And taking the twelve, He said to them, 'We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written about the Son of Man by the prophets will be accomplished.  For He will be delivered over to the Gentiles and will be mocked and shamefully treated and spit upon.  And after flogging Him, they will kill Him, and on the third day He will rise'" (Luke 18:31-33).

"Now the men who were holding Jesus in custody were mocking Him as they beat Him.  They also blindfolded Him and kept asking Him, 'Prophesy! Who is it that struck You?'  And they said many other things against Him, blaspheming Him" (Luke 22:63-65).

"Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, 'Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit!' And having said this He breathed His last" (Luke 23:46).

"He is not here, but has risen. Remember how He told you, while He was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise" (Luke 24:6-7).

Jesus told the disciples that He would be mistreated and mocked by the Gentiles and Jews.  They would torture and beat Him up and then kill Him.  This prophecy turned out to be true; the Jews and Gentiles would be involved in killing Jesus.  They mocked, tortured and beat Jesus as well.  Notice the fact that we too are Gentiles and Jews.  The Lord took away all of our sins by them being nailed to the cross.  He loves us so much He was willing to be tortured and beaten because of our sin and became sin for us and died in our place and rose again so that we may live.  As a result of Christ's death and resurrection, we are free of sin when we come to Him in faith and asking Him for mercy and asking Him to come into our hearts.  Jesus wants to have a loving relationship with us and can transform us from the inside out.  Jesus is truly the Son of God, Son of Man, Wonder Counselor, Prince of Peace, and the Messiah.  Praise to You Lord and thank You!
